Issues papers

Space4trees has been developed through a process of research, scoping, information gathering and consultation.

The early stages of this process led to the creation of a series of ‘issues papers’. These were designed to provide a position statement on trees and woodland in the East Midlands and their inter-relationship with various aspects of the region’s economy, community and environment.

These issues papers have remained a useful resource base throughout the process of developing the strategy framework and are available here for reference.

Case Studies

A number of case studies have been undertaken to highlight some of the excellent examples of good practice that exist in the East Midlands region. These are summarised in the Space4trees strategy document but are also reproduced here in a little more detail.

It is hoped that many other case studies can be showcased on the Space4trees website. If you have a suggestion or would like to submit a text for a study, please contact us at: space4trees@forestry.gsi.gov.uk or contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.
